Communicator

Now we have a new "communicator" at work. Not sure how we will use this Instant Messaging technology any differently than we would our email. If you're at a computer and your email is up, you get a notification when a new email comes in. Seems this would be about the same as being notified of an IM. Now for chats, I can see the relevance. I just haven't been in many chats since about 1996.

We'll see how this pans out.

  1. I'm just thinking and typing right now.

One of the good things about Communicator is that it keeps track of our conversations, so if we don't remember what was decided during a chat one of us could go back and review it for clarification.

I think a phone call is easier if we're calling between floors, checking to see if books are where they're supposed to be.

And if we're going to talk about something and we're already in the same building, why not meet face-to-face.

I bet communicator works well for businesses that have multiple locations. When we get a branch we could use it instead of wasting time to drive to one place for a meeting.

    Oh it's almost story time.
